EV battery tray & bracketry
A welded aluminium battery tray and mounting set for a local EV conversion programme, from prototype to a 12,000-unit run.
The brief
The customer needed a lightweight but stiff battery enclosure that could pass a vibration schedule, with weld integrity they could certify to their OEM. Aluminium welding at this thickness leaves little margin for distortion.
What we built
We nested the profiles on the fibre laser, formed the tray on a CNC brake against an in-house fixture, and TIG-welded to a weld map with jigged distortion control. First articles were CMM-verified before we released the volume schedule.
